Hiya, I’m Ollie your maths society president for the year. I’m currently a third-year financial mathematics student and want to help bring our maths community together. Outside of uni like to spend lots of time in the gym but realistically, it’s all brains and zero gains. I look forward to meeting with you all and enjoying socials In hopefully, a restriction-free year.
Elliott Sullinge-Farrall (Vice-President)
Hi everyone, I’m Elliott, Vice-President of the Maths Society. I’ve just started as a PGR at Surrey but I did also did my UG here, an integrated master’s with placement, in the maths department. When I’m not knee-deep in reading, learning or teaching analysis I enjoy most of the stereotypical nerd hobbies: video games, anime, Rubiks cubes etc. I also have a cat, love all pubs and have been learning to balisong flip (feel free to ask me how that’s going and I will tell you how badly). Can’t wait to meet all of you and hopefully buy you some drinks.
Jess Waterman (Treasurer)
Hello! My name is Jess and I’m the treasurer for MathSoc this year. I’m usually knee-deep in the Maths & Stats BSc programme but I’m currently away on my placement year as a programmer for a pharmaceutical company called Amgen. In my free time, I enjoy volunteer dog walking, baking a ton of cakes, going to football matches, and probably having far too many naps…
I’m really excited to work with the committee this year to bring you a more diverse and exciting range of activities!
