University of Surrey – Nigerian Society

The society exists to ensure an enabling community for students of Nigerian origin (both international and home students), and the committee helps to consolidate the efforts of the university management, students’ union (USSU) and other relevant support teams available on campus. This is to ensure that there is quick and easy access to information, and support necessary for achieving academic, personal and professional success.

Key objectives

  • Create a common and enabling identity for students of Nigerian origin within the university
  • Provide or signpost to ensure dedicated support regarding the peculiar needs or struggles of the Nigerian student community
  • Celebrate and share knowledge about the diverse culture and traditions of the Nigerian people with other students
  • Contribute positively to social causes affecting Nigerians (home & abroad); and the world generally
