No Wave – If it's not charts, it's No Wave!

If you’re a fan of contemporary music, no matter the genre, then No Wave is the place for you, whether as a listener or performer! Established in 1978, No Wave is Surrey University’s longest continuously running society!

Our regular socials take place on Tuesday Evenings, between 7:30pm and 11pm, at Wates House. Here, you can meet other society members for a relaxed evening of drinking, conversation and fun, all while listening to playlists publicly made by the society’s members

Thanks to our merger with Bandsoc in 2022, we’re also the best place to go if you’re looking to form, join, or even just watch a student band at Surrey. Every Monday evening, between 7 and 10pm, we host our Open Jams. Any member can come along to watch, or even join in if you’d like, playing live music with other members.

Beyond even these regular events, you’ll also find us hosting other activities. On certain nights each semester, you’ll find us as part of a night in Rubix, playing alternative, old-school and heavy music for you to enjoy on a night out. We also host our own gigs in the local area, many of which include No Wave Bands.
