The Sport
Weightlifting consists of two movements; the snatch, and the clean and jerk. The aim is to lift as much as possible, with safe and excellent form, for one rep only. However, most importantly, the aim is to have fun and enjoy training to make your body and mind stronger!
The Weightlifting movements are also used in other sports to improve strength and power, making weightlifting a great accessory sport to help you elsewhere. In more recent years, they have become a big part of CrossFit programmes, making for a fun and intense workout.
Our sessions focus on various aspects of the sport including technique training, accessory work, and competition-prep-specific sessions.
Our Sessions
You must hold a Powerlifting & Weightlifting membership in order to join our sessions, which can be purchased through the USSU website. You will also need to purchase a Team Surrey membership which can be purchased through the Team Surrey website.
