”Hey guys, I’m Nitya and i’ll be taking over as president for our 8th Singsoc exco! I will be going into my third year of Biomedical Science in September. I like hanging out with my friends and spend my free time baking. Recently, I have been trying to teach myself how to play the ukulele! I am so excited to see what the upcoming year has in store for us and I can’t wait to meet all of you! So please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to have a chat!”

”Hey everyone! I’m Shaziyah, the Vice President for 2021-22. I’m currently in the second year of Biomedical Science and pretty much all over campus so don’t be shy and come say hi!! I was born and raised in Singapore for 17 years but I moved to UK not too long ago. I’m very much into socialising, BTS, k-dramas, reading, travelling (but mainly daydreaming) and a huge foodie. Can’t wait to see you all soon! :)”

Fun fact, my real name is Kah Xuan but I cringe every time people call me that in the UK, especially with the British accent! Hopefully 2021/22 will be a fulfilling year for Singsoc!”

I’m currently a 2nd year student studying International Tourism Management. Playing all kinds of sports is my favourite past time and I am currently a level 1 coach in the university’s touch rugby club (free coaching lessons available… at the right price XD). I have a default stern face but please do not be afraid to approach me because I’m friendly as hell once you get to know me. 🙂“

“Hello! I’m a mechanical engineering undergraduate at the University of Surrey. I often find myself juggling between my hectic engineering schedule and the media projects I have to work on due to my passion for photography and filming. When I’m away from the camera, I’m a thrill seeker who enjoys the art of skateboarding.”

“Holla!! I’m a 2nd year Media Studies student in Surrey! You will most probably find me at touch rugby trainings, in my kitchen munching at 2am, on a cheeky Tesco trip for munchies or the library attempting to get work done. I’m like the front desk of the society because I manage all the social media platforms for our society. But a lot more work is going on behind-the-scenes! ;)”
Sports Secretary – Jarvis Lim
“Hi! I’m Jarvis, currently a 2nd year student in International Hospitality Management and I’m with the school’s Ultimate Frisbee club. I enjoy playing sports and an occasional drink or two. Or three. Or five. So catch me around SSP or Rubix where I spend most of my time. 😀“
The Surrey SingSoc Committee aspires to foster a sense of national identity for Singaporeans studying in the University of Surrey. The 5 of us resolve to plan an event for the society every month in hopes to unite everyone in the society.
More importantly, the committee members wants to reach out to everyone to make your Surrey experience a smashing one. 🙂
