Your Surrey Life starts with us! Whether you're a new student or coming back to Surrey, we care about making sure you can find something that inspires you to do more. As your Union, we have so many opportunities on offer for you to try something new and get stuck in to student life at Surrey.
Every year, thousands of students get involved with the Union by taking part in our student groups, volunteering to represent or support other students, or helping us serve the student community as part-time staff. The benefits they get are massive - personal development, new friends and connections, and loads of new fun memories. This year can be your time to get involved, so why not check out some of our opportunities?
Peer Support
University life can come its challenges for some students, and as your Union, we're here to offer support. We run peer support services like Nightline and Talk Together to provide a helping hand, all powered by student volunteers. If you're passionate about helping others, why not volunteer to be there when someone needs it most?
Clubs and Societies
Clubs and Societies play a vital role in the social scene at Surrey, offering more than 180 student groups to choose from; there's truly something for everyone. Clubs and Societies are open to all students, and are the best way to make new friends for life, try something new, and develop yourself in the process.
Course Reps
We are committed to your academic success, and as your Union, we want to empower you to shape your education. Our Course Rep scheme, with over 450 Course Reps and Head Reps, help give voice to your feedback to achieve the changes you want to see. If you're excited by making a difference, apply to become a Course Rep!
Work For Us
If you’re looking for paid part-time work during your time at university, look no further than your Union. Every year, we employ around 150 students to help run our venues, administer our activities, and support the student community. By working for us, you'll get all the benefits of part-time work whilst getting stuck in to student life at Surrey.
There are so many more ways you could get involved in the Union - from our Equality Networks to joining us as an elected Union Officer in our upcoming bye-election. Stay tuned for more content about all our activity by following our Instagram and checking out our Fresher's mini-site! Don't miss Freshers' Fair too - open to all students and the perfect chance to find your way to get involved.
