Varsity
One of the biggest events of the year for University of Surrey and basketball is the main part. Each sports team from our university plays against each team from the opposing university, which for the past 2 years has been Royal Holloway.
Charity Tournament
The Charity Tournament is an event opened to anyone who wants to play in a basketball tournament. Different teams sign up and a tournament with different pool games, semi-finales and finales is organised. Prizes and rewards are given at the end of the event. All the money collected from sign ups is donated to a charity. This year we donated to the Royal Surrey Hospital’s Charitable Fund.
Social Events
Different types of socials are organised throughout the year where all members of Team Surrey Basketball are invited to get together. It is the opportunity to get to know everyone better and build a stronger team spirit within the Club, and also have some fun. Socials that have been organised in the past include:
- Team Dinners in Nandos, Wagamama and others.
- Bowling
- Christmas Dinner
- Christmas Tournament
- End of year Dinner
- Color’s ball
- All American Bar Crawl
Grad Sport
GradSport is an event which occurs at the end of the season where alumni students (who used to play for a club in Team Surrey) play against current Team Surrey students.
