Regular Events

Weekly Social Skate Sessions (Tuesdays and Thursdays 8.30pm – 10pm)

  • Located at Guildford Spectrum Ice rink.
  • Attendees will need to purchase their tickets for the session. Skate hire is available if you do not have your own skates. Check the Spectrum website for prices (you may be eligible for concession).
  • Don’t forget to sign up to our society via the Student Union website, before attending any skate sessions!

Tuesday Sessions:

  • Generally quieter and a great opportunity to build confidence and practice skills!
  • No Hockey Skates permitted (Spectrum rules)

Thursday sessions:

  • “Retro Night” at Spectrum! Disco music and lights – perfect for having fun and a boogie on the ice!
  • Hockey Skates permitted

Member Group Lessons (Tuesday Evenings)

  • Located at Guildford Spectrum Ice Rink
  • Takes place during the ‘Simply Skate’ (90 min) session. Lessons are 30 minutes long (may vary each semester) but skaters are free to use the rest of the session to warm-up, practice or just to have fun.
  • Members enrolled in the lessons are able to work towards their NISA SkateUK Levels.
  • Limited number of places available per semester.

Our events will be posted and announced on our social media pages. We are looking at hosting regular social events to cater for everyone, so if there is something you would like to see, please get in touch! Some events we have done in the past include:

  • Panto on Ice
  • Themed bar crawls
  • Pizza and movie nights
  • Trip to Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink
  • Collab events with other societies (e.g. Anime society, ZooSoc!)
