The University of Surrey and Surrey Students' Union is pleased to present our annual free music and arts festival which features live music, performances, outdoor cinema, Kids play zone with bouncy castles and Yoga sessions. This year we're also welcoming the Surrey New Writers Festival to the programme of activities.

All activities are free.

Saturday 18th May

11.am to 7pm Surrey New Writers Festival

Surrey New Writers’ Festival (SNWF) has been hosted annually by the School of Literature and Languages at the University of Surrey since 2013. It is a vibrant all-day celebration of contemporary writing, welcoming writers, readers and students from across London and the South East. Visit their website for full programme details.

12pm until 6.30pm One Spring Afternoon hosted by Gavin Thomas

Live music from local bands and artists.

6.30pm to 11pm FreeFest Music hosted by USSU

The live music continues with performances by some of our talented student musicians and DJs.

Sunday 19 May - Slow Down Sunday

9am and 10am Yoga by the Lake

Join us for a 50 minute yoga session at either 9.00am or 10.00am. Please bring your own mat.

From 12pm Earth Makes No Sound

Enjoy three 15-minute performances by our students and Guildford community members of Earth Makes No Sound - a fusion of dynamic choral singing, voice, movement, body percussion and improvisation inspired by the elements and the environmental changes happening to our planet.

Filament Theatre produces inclusive work featuring original vocal music for audiences and participants. The company is led by composer and choir leader, Osnat Schmool and director, Sabina Netherclift, and works in partnership with other organisations to bring performances and participation opportunities to a wide audience.
