About Us

Thanks for taking a look at our website!
We are AutiSoc – a society created by ASD students, for ASD students!
Formed in February 2018, we have a number of objectives we hope to achieve over the coming year, and in subsequent years…

  • Provide students on the Autistic Spectrum, and those with similar needs, with a safe-space to socialise, as well as help them to build confidence in social situations through events and workshops.
  • Work alongside the union and ALS to spread awareness and ensure students on the spectrum are receiving sufficient support.
  • Reduce stigma surrounding individuals with autism and encourage multiple groups across campus to get involved in charitable events, raising money autistic charities.

We enjoy putting on events that engage both ASD students and non-ASD students. Click here to view our past events!

Fundraising

Raising money for charity is something we are really passionate about, and something we hope to do a lot of in the upcoming year!
In March 2018, we ran our very first fundraising endeavour- the ever traditional Bake Sale!

Overall we raised a fantastic £55 for The National Autistic Society!

Confidentiality

We understand that not everybody wants the world to know about their ASD. When taking photos at events, we will ask everybody present first if they are happy to be in the photo and if they are happy for it to be posted on the website/social media. You should never feel like you can’t say no!
Similarly, we will never share the names of any members unless you ask us to/ agree to it.
If you are concerned about confidentiality, don’t hesitate in sending us an email, whether it be on the society email address ussu.autisoc@surrey.ac.uk or one of our committee members‘ personal addresses if you would feel more comfortable.
