Join our society and become part of a welcoming community of Mahjong enthusiasts at the University of Surrey!

The Society is committed to spreading Chinese culture through its traditional game of Mahjong. With its deeply rooted history, Mahjong brings both competition and excitement to the room.

As a society, we support students from all levels to teach you how to play and have fun. This means that everyone is welcome to come, whether you have none or years of experience!

Our society holds weekly sessions, allowing you to take a break and unwind from your studies. It’s a great chance to gather with your friends and play an intense game of mahjong!

We are the only games society that incorporates Chinese culture, so you don’t want to miss out!

Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy and luck, helping you to develop problem-solving and quick-thinking skills, whilst also enabling you to learn a few Chinese characters! Additionally, it’s a great hobby to show off on your CV.
