Join Surrey Neurotech Society — completely free for 2026/27.

Surrey Neurotech Society brings together students interested in the intersection of neuroscience, technology, artificial intelligence, computing, engineering, psychology, biomedical science and related fields.

Whether you already know about neurotechnology or are simply curious about how the brain and technology can work together, you’re welcome to join. No previous experience is required.

As a member, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary community exploring areas such as brain-computer interfaces, neural data, neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, AI, wearable technology, assistive technology and human-computer interaction.

Throughout the year, we aim to offer opportunities including:

• Hands-on workshops and projects — learn practical skills and explore projects such as brain-computer interfaces.
• Talks and guest speakers — hear from researchers, academics, startups and industry professionals working across neurotech, AI and cognitive science.
• Journal clubs and discussions — explore new research, emerging technologies and the ethical questions surrounding neurotechnology.
• Hackathons and collaborations — meet students from other disciplines and take part in collaborative projects and inter-university initiatives.
• Careers and networking — discover research opportunities, internships, postgraduate pathways, startups and careers connected to neurotechnology.
• Socials and community — meet students with similar interests and become part of our growing Neurotech community at Surrey.

Our goal is to make neurotechnology accessible, interdisciplinary and exciting, while creating opportunities for students to learn, build, research, collaborate and connect.

Membership is free for the 2026/27 academic year.
