On 11th March, I had the opportunity to host a career workshop in collaboration with the Black Sport Collective and the Association for Black and Ethnic Minority Engineers (AFBE), aimed at supporting students in their professional development.

We were joined by guest speakers Kayode Akinrinlola and Carly Nettleford, with the session hosted by Euton Gordon, who brought great energy and insight to the event.

The workshop gave students the opportunity to gain valuable insight into different industries, as well as practical advice on how to approach the recruitment process. This included guidance on interview techniques, along with support on improving CVs and cover letters.

One of the key highlights was the opportunity for students to receive direct feedback and advice, helping them better understand how to present themselves professionally and stand out to employers.

The session was well received, with students finding it both informative and useful, particularly in building confidence when applying for roles and preparing for interviews.

Overall, it was great to see students engaging, asking questions, and taking advantage of the opportunity to develop skills that will support them in their future careers.
