Last week, to celebrate the end of exams and the start of summer break, a group of students – joined by a few enthusiastic sabbatical officers – took on the ultimate challenge at Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park. Inspired by the ITV show, it was the perfect mix of adrenaline, laughter, and the occasional dramatic fall.
The venue had it all - balance beams, inflatables, climbing frames, and of course, those famous red balls. I’m proud to say I actually managed the red balls (a personal win!), though the monkey bars proved… less successful - much to the disappointment of my inner child. There was lots of cheering and even more slipping as we all attempted the warped wall and Mount Sasuke. Shoutout to VP Activity, who conquered the red balls after several determined tries, and to VP Voice, whose energy never dipped - even when the obstacles got the better of her.
What made it really special was how many students said it was just what they needed to unwind - with some even heading off for pre-drinks before the end-of-year show! It was a brilliant way to blow off steam after the exam period, and a great reminder of how fun and connection go hand in hand with student wellbeing.
Looking forward to more adventures next academic year - and until then, wishing everyone a joyful and restful summer break!
