Congratulations, once again, to all of you who got your results recently and were happy with how you did! It is a huge achievement to get through another academic year of study and with a grade that you know you deserve.
For many students, sometimes things don't go as smoothly as we'd hope, and this year was no exception. Every year during July, we support hundreds of students who aren't happy with their results. This year, your Union advice team supported more students than ever, with 12.5% more students supported than last academic year.
We have helped you with academic appeals, technical errors in your mark calculations, difficulties understanding your results, and difficulties understanding compensation or eligibility for a third attempt on your assessment. Whatever the question is - we are always here to help advise and guide you.
Your Union Advice team don't work for the University, so we can provide you with fully impartial and confidential, independent advice. So, if you ever have a question and you are worried about the impact on your University life, then get in touch. We pride ourselves on giving you high-quality and prompt support, so your advisors will always get back to you within 2 working days.
Your support is so important to us, so next year we are investing even more into our Advice service. Our team is growing - next academic year, we will have employed a new Support Coordinator on our team which means we can provide even more of you with the right advice and guidance when you need it.
For those of you currently going through an academic appeal, remember we are still here to support you. For those of you worried about your upcoming LSA (Late summer assessments), we are always here to support you.
To get in touch, email ussu.advice@surrey.ac.uk. We hope you will never need us whilst you are at Surrey but, if you do then know that no question is too big or small for our team.
