Each month, the Voice team recognise's the exceptional contributions made by Course Reps across the University. Our reps play a vital role in representing student voices and improving the academic experience.

Using submissions from the Rep Wins form, we are proud to announce our Course Rep of the Month for January. 

Course Rep of the Month FABSS: Mia Clarke

Course: Sociology

Mia, has been selected as Course Rep of the Month for January in recognition of their outstanding commitment and impact. They were nominated for:

  • Following concerns from students on a particular module about delays in feedback from an assignment, Mia managed to get an update on the timeline of grade releases.
  • Mia also requested for a deadline extension for their whole course which was successfully granted. This gave students peace of mind and some extra time to work on a particularly tricky assignment.

Course Rep of the Month FHMS: Cat Kelly

Course: Nursing Studies

Cat, has been selected as Course Rep of the Month for January in recognition of their outstanding commitment and impact. They were nominated for:

  • Sending out monthly newsletters to all reps in the school of health sciences to ensure that all students have regular contact and communication with their rep. 
  • Building profiles for each of the reps in her school to build recognition. 
  • Cat has consistently looked after the current course reps for Health Sciences Faculty. As head rep, she has successfully contributed to the reopening of the library as a 24hr service during term time.

Course Rep of the Month FEPS: Sian Watson

Course: Math and Physics

Sian, has been selected as Course Rep of the Month for January in recognition of their outstanding commitment and impact. They were nominated for:

  • Exceptional commitment to the role, and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure all students' voices are heard.
  • Sian effectively gathers feedback from the student body for Student Voice Forums and Board of Studies meetings, they frequently keeps academics updated on ongoing/arising issues within the Schoolwhich has meant that problems are identified and solved much more quickly.
