Monday 27 April
Speak Week is taking place from Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May and is a campaign led by the Voice Zone. It is all about gathering the views of our students and is an opportunity to share your ideas on what you’d change, improve, or add to make student life better. Getting involved is easy, and there are loads of ways to take part. Find out more below:
The whole point of Speak Week is to share what you want to change about the Union and University. Anonymously drop your suggestions into our ballot boxes around campus, or submit your ideas through our Speak Week online form. Every suggestion you submit (online or at a stall) gets you entered into a prize draw, with the chance to win one of two £50 cash prizes. So if you’ve ever thought “this could be better”, now’s your time to say it.
Visit us at our Speak Week stalls to submit your ideas and speak to the team. Find us at the Library from 11:30 -14:30 on Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 of April. Plus we are giving away free cupcakes.
We are running several focus groups across the week where you can be paid to share your views. These sessions take place over teams and you can find more about them here. Topics include Support Services, Student Spaces, AI in Education and International Student Support.
For our final Student Voice Forum of the year, this is an opportunity to ask questions and raise concerns directly to the University’s Senior Leadership team. Organised by the Voice Zone, this online event promotes open discussion and transparency on the issues that matter most to students. The theme of this meeting is: Teaching & Learning and Student Spaces. You can find out more about this event and previous meeting minutes here.
Got a hot take about Surrey? A funny story about campus life? A deep dive into Guildford nights out? Put it in a short presentation and take share it on stage.
