What is the Annual Disabled Student Survey?

The Annual Disabled Student Survey has been created by disabled students to improve accessibility for disabled students in Higher Education. The survey is now in its fourth year following three successful runs. The first three years saw over 1000 students per year from more than 100 institutions share their lived-experience. Disabled students donate approximately 572 hours filling in the survey each year. You can explore the findings from previous years on Disabled Students UK’s Access Insights website.

How can I get involved? 

Surrey wants to hear from you. We're inviting all disabled students to take part in the 2026 Annual Disabled Student Survey, a survey designed by disabled students, for disabled students. The survey is anonymous and takes around 30 minutes to complete.

You don't need a formal diagnosis to take part. This includes long-term conditions such as chronic illnesses, mental health conditions, and neurodivergence, alongside more visible disabilities.

Why should I get involved? 

Each year, over 1,000 students across the UK share their experiences through this survey, generating insights that are helping shape better policy and practice in higher education. This year, we want to understand what your experience has actually been like at Surrey specifically, what's working, what isn't, and where we need to do better.
