The Employability themed meeting was most popular and was attended by 35 students. This subnetwork feedback contributed to the creation of the University's International Student Experience Subcommittee and informed SVF agenda. We delivered several events throughout the year, including a Postcard Event with the International Engagement team attended by over 60 students. It also led University-wide International Students Day celebrations in collaboration with International Advice, Engagement and the Support Zone. Next year, we’re focused on gathering more student input in meetings, and are planning more collaborations with the Employability team and Belonging team following student feedback.  

A key achievement this year was the delivery of the #MyNameIs campaign, which generated conversations around identity and inclusion, and led to strong engagement through interactive stalls, poster displays, social media and My Lived Experience content. The Subnetwork Leader represented student perspectives at the Race Equality Charter Meeting and contributed to discussions on race equality and staff training frameworks. We also hosted three “Let’s Talk About Race” craft and chat events. We were also pleased to feature strong contributions in our meetings from staff speakers including SEED representatives, Personal Tutors and the Wellbeing team. We aim to increase engagement, continue our campaigns, and increase collaboration. 

This subnetwork saw great discussions, particularly around accessibility and employability, which contributed to Union decision-making and University initiatives like University staff training. We led activities for Neurodiversity Celebration Week, Autism Acceptance Month and Disability & Neurodiversity Awareness Month in collaboration with the Library, AutiSoc, Stag Radio, Film Soc and more. Activities included a workshop led by our Subnetwork Leader on the late diagnosis of ADHD which had 25 attendees, alongside events like an SSP adapted tennis session, a Café & Film Night and supporting a Disability Insight Careers Panel. We also hosted a focus group with the University and AccessAble to review campus access guides. The Subnetwork Leader’s impact was recognised and awarded with the Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award at Union Ball. Next year, we’ll be working to increase student input to ensure our activities best reflect student needs, to strengthen collaboration, and to improve feedback processes to the University.
