What is it?

Union Connects: Belonging Breakfast is a free, grab-and-go continental breakfast hosted by Surrey Students’ Union. It is a simple way to start the day feeling fuelled, supported, and connected.

Students can pick from items like pastries, cereal bars, porridge, and fresh fruit, plus drinks such as tea, coffee, juices, and water. You can eat in for a quick chat, or take it with you to your next lecture.

When is it?

Wednesday 18 March, 9:00 – 11:00 at The Front Room.

Why is it happening?

The event is part of the wider Surrey Belonging programme and supports students experiencing ongoing cost-of-living pressures. With budgets tighter than ever, everyday basics like breakfast can become harder to manage and easier to forget, especially during busier weeks in the academic year.

Who is it for?

Belonging Breakfast is particularly aimed at students who may benefit from something quick, free, and low-effort in the morning, including:

  • Commuter students arriving on campus early
  • Students with morning lectures
  • Students on a low income, or anyone feeling stretched by rising costs
  • Anyone who does not have time to sort breakfast before heading in

Good to know

This is a free ticketed event, so the team can plan food quantities and reduce waste. Food is first come, first serve, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Because places and meals are limited, please only book a ticket if you genuinely plan to attend.

Tickets are available via the Students’ Union website. Please bring your ticket QR code and student ID when you arrive. An Events Assistant will check you in using your QR Code and student ID so please ensure you have grabbed a ticket.
