This year, my goal has been to unite our students and create a vibrant community.

From Freshers' Week and beyond, the Union serves as the focal point of the social experience for students at Surrey. Improvements to our programme of events and entertainment have significantly increased student engagement. We take pride in our on-campus nightclub, Rubix, which continues to be the safest and affordable experience for our students.

Our Union venues have provided informal spaces for student connection, enabling us to host a diverse range of events, with Quiz Nights at Manor Park Social being a standout highlight.

We are particularly proud to have transformed the Front Room in the Union Building from a previously underused space into a casual social setting for students to meet up with friends. The Lake Bar also returned this year to make the most of our beautiful campus!

Showcase events have helped us to celebrate the diversity of our student community and acknowledge the hard work of our volunteers. One World Week provided students with the opportunity to showcase their heritage, while the Union Ball and Colours Ball honour all the volunteers who have made exceptional contributions to our community.

In partnership with the University, we also championed sustainability at Surrey, running Sustainability Week. Our Community Hub is built on a sustainable ethos and has continued to provide a vital space for students to purchase second-hand items at low cost.

In collaboration with the University, we promoted sustainability at Surrey through a joint campaign called Sustainability Week. Our Community Hub is founded on sustainable principles and serves as an important space for students to buy second-hand items at affordable prices.

I'm incredibly proud of what we've offered to students this year. I'm honoured to have the opportunity to lead the Union next year as Union President and to continue to represent our student community.
