Varsity 2026 was the biggest competitive sports event of the year, where Team Surrey went head-to-head with long-standing rivals Royal Holloway in a full day of matches from your Clubs and Societies. This year, we took home the trophy yet again, beating the Bears and ending the day on 44 - 23!

This year, we took over 800 students to Royal Holloway to compete all day long. The matches started early, with Surrey taking home the victory in swimming on 19 March, and on the day itself, Surrey took several early wins in Women's Lacrosse and Women's Tennis.

The day carried on with plenty more successes - competitions for Men's Football, Ultimate Frisbee, and Table Tennis all saw the Stags come out on top!

It wasn't just your Sports Clubs competing either. Some of your Surrey societies also took part, with Debating Society and Chess Society getting involved to put up a strong showing against Holloway. Poker Society took home a win for Surrey!

Varsity went until late, with Team Surrey continuing to smash the competition into the evening. Women's Football, Trampolining, and Men's Hockey and Lacrosse marked even more victories for the Stags.

Royal Holloway fought back, taking 23 wins over the day, but it was no match for Team Surrey, who ended out Varsity 2026 with 44 total wins! Massive well done to every single competitor, you brought home the trophy yet again. We couldn't be more proud.

We hope you have fun celebrating at Citrus: Varsity tonight! See you next year, Bears. πŸ’ͺ
