Budapest is one of the hubs of eastern Europe; a prime destination in the region. That means you get the best of everything, with fantastic international cuisine from hidden food markets, iconic sights to see, and an extensive and intriguing history to learn about. The magnificent Parliament building is something to behold, which you can see from Buda Castle across the river, giving you unrivalled sunset views over the whole city. 

Once the sun goes down, Budapest comes alive with candlelit restaurants along the Danube and vibrant bars filled with travellers from all over Europe, such as the awesome Szimpler Ruin bar. One of the cheapest capitals we visit, there really is some much you can do without having to worry about your wallet.
