Overview:This is the first combat robotics fight of the 2026 - 2027 academic year, however this is actually the 2026 Combat Robotics season final. We will be taking a total of 9 people to watch "Pancake Re-Baked" (which is a slightly upgraded version of our 2025 - 2026 academic year combat robot) fight against other UK universities and national teams.Tickets: This event is open to Combat Robotics members from EARS only! Please do not reserve a space on this trip if you are not involved with combat robotics at EARS. The event will be free including entry to the event and transport to and from the event location in Bristol. Timings & Transport: This will be a very long day. Please meet outside the front of the Students Union Building at Stag Hill main campus at 06:45am. We will be leaving at exactly 07:00am and we will be leaving without you if you are late! We will be driving in a university minivan so please bear that in mind if you get travel sick. The event finishes at 18:30 6:30pm and we expect to be back to Guildford by 21:00 9pm traffic dependant. Please only book onto this if you are free for the full day. If you are no longer able to attend, inform us as soon as possible so we can give your place to another member. Don't worry if you do not get booked onto this event as when we fight your own robots in February we will aim to take as many of you that are interested in going.

Guildford Lions Firework Festival Returns for a Spectacular Night of Entertainment The popular Guildford Lions Firework Festival is back, promising an unforgettable evening of live entertainment, spectacular fireworks, and community spirit, all while raising vital funds for local causes. Every ticket sold helps make a difference. 100% of all profits will be used to support people in need across the local community. This year, alongside supporting the our Welfare Fund, proceeds will help raise knife crime awareness amongst young people through Guildford Shakespeare Company’s Put Up Your Swords programme, a pioneering knife crime awareness initiative using Shakespeare’s Romeo Juliet as a powerful educational tool for schools. We are proud that our Firework Festival not only brings the community together for a fantastic evening of entertainment, but also supports projects that have a real and lasting impact on local lives. This is our Monday Debate Session, in which we will be practicing a variety of debating skills, and hosting mock debates on serious topics of your choosing (this is usually done via vote). The style of debate varies between Town Hall style and British Parliamentary. The session opens from 6:30, aiming to begin at 7 until late, although you can leave earlier if you need to. We aim to conduct around two debates a session if possible.
