Learn it. Build it. Question it.
Surrey Artificial Intelligence Society is a student-led community for anyone curious about artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science.
Whether you are writing your first line of code, already building with AI, or simply interested in how this technology is changing the world, you are welcome here. You do not need a technical background or any previous experience to get involved.
Through beginner-friendly workshops, practical projects, talks, challenges and socials, we help members develop useful skills, meet like-minded people and turn ideas into something real. You can experiment with modern AI tools, collaborate on portfolio projects, learn from researchers and industry professionals, and explore future careers in technology.
We also believe that understanding AI means questioning it. Our activities encourage thoughtful conversations about responsibility, bias, privacy, accessibility and the wider human impact of the systems we create.
Come to learn, build, connect and help shape what comes next.
The aim of Surrey Artificial Intelligence Society is to create an inclusive student community for anyone interested in artificial intelligence. The society will support members by running beginner-friendly workshops, tutorials and practical sessions on AI tools, machine learning, coding, automation and responsible AI. It will also host talks, panels and networking events with academics, researchers, startups and industry professionals, helping students understand both the technical and real-world impact of AI. The society will encourage members to take part in projects, hackathons, competitions and collaborations so they can build confidence, develop portfolios and gain practical experience. It will also provide a space for discussion around the ethical, social, political and economic effects of AI, while helping students explore careers, internships and further study in AI and related fields.
Surrey Artificial Intelligence Society exists to give students a clear, accessible place to explore artificial intelligence, regardless of degree, coding ability, or prior experience. AI is becoming increasingly important across business, science, politics, healthcare, education, creative work and everyday life, so students need opportunities to understand it practically, critically and responsibly. The society will bring together students interested in AI through workshops, talks, projects, competitions and socials. It will help members learn useful skills, build confidence, meet like-minded people, connect with industry and explore the wider impact of AI on society.
