Bangladeshi Society

Home to the Bangladeshi community at University of Surrey!!

Surrey Bangladeshi Society is a cultural and social society dedicated to bringing students together, celebrating Bangladeshi heritage, and creating a welcoming space to connect, share experiences, and build lasting memories.

Established in 2025, the society aims to represent the growing Bangladeshi community at the University of Surrey while promoting cultural awareness, inclusivity, and collaboration across campus. Through social events, cultural celebrations, and community-led initiatives, we strive to create an environment where everyone can feel at home — whether you identify as Bangladeshi or are simply interested in learning more about the culture.

We are excited to grow this community from the ground up and look forward to hosting engaging events, meaningful collaborations, and memorable experiences throughout the academic year. Follow us to stay updated and be part of our journey as we build something special together.

Aims

To establish a strong committee to host cultural, social, and educational events such as meet and greets, Eid celebrations, games nights, and collaborations with other societies. Additionally, to build a supportive network for Bangladeshi and international students, helping them feel at home while at University.

Existence

The society will help foster diversity and inclusivity on campus by bringing people of different backgrounds together, while also offering support and a sense of belonging for Bangladeshi and international students who may be far from home as we have noticed a large number of international Bangladeshi students looking for Bangladeshi communities. By establishing this society, we hope to build a strong, sustainable community where students can connect together and create lasting memories throughout their university experience.
