Aims

Create a community that is welcoming to all chemical engineering students, regardless of their year level. Support academics by organising study groups, revision sessions, and mentorship programs with senior and junior students. Facilitate connections to industry with seminars, site visits, networking events, and information on placements/graduate jobs. Encourage professional development with workshops on CV writing, interviews, and the Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Existence

Chemical Engineering is a difficult subject and students go through the subject alone, in their year group. The purpose of this society is to connect all the chemical engineering students from different year groups including foundation year to enable them to help each other with academics, gain experience and make friends. It will also provide students with a direct connection to the industry, professional institutions like IChemE and alumni to help them understand their career options. Without the existence of a dedicated society, it would be hard for the students to get such connections and opportunities.
