The aim of a flute choir is to bring together flautists of varying skill levels to develop ensemble playing, musical expression, and technical proficiency through collaborative performance. By exploring a wide range of repertoire written or arranged for multiple flutes, the choir seeks to deepen members’ understanding of harmony, balance, blend, and musical interpretation. A flute choir also aims to foster teamwork, discipline, and confidence, while providing opportunities for performance, musical growth, and enjoyment, creating a supportive community that celebrates both individual development and collective artistry.
The flute choir society at the university exists to provide flautists with a welcoming and inclusive space to continue making music alongside their academic studies. It offers students the opportunity to develop their ensemble skills, explore diverse flute repertoire beyond solo performance, and perform regularly in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The society also serves as a social and creative community, connecting students with a shared interest in music, encouraging collaboration across disciplines, and enriching campus cultural life through performances and outreach.
