-FreeHi! We are the Model UN society at Surrey.
Each week we hold sessions where we simulate, to varying degrees of accuracy, UN debates. Members will debate a predetermined topic, picking a country whose views they want to represent. Everyone is given equal opportunities to speak. Sessions will typically last an hour and a half give or take, with a mostly casual atmosphere.
We will organise trips to Model UN conferences at other universities, mostly in the UK but also across continental Europe, where more attuned members will get a chance to debate at a higher level. These will typically be a bit more competitive but we encourage everyone to give it a try!
We are active on Instagram and Whatsapp, with Whatsapp being our primary means of communication for our weekly sessions. Any questions feel free to message and we hope to see you there!
