We are a friendly and welcoming club with a shared passion for climbing and mountaineering. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced climber, we offer something for everyone! Our weekly climbing sessions take place at Surrey Summit, where you can develop your skills, meet like-minded people, and have fun. We also organize regular trips, including outdoor climbing, mountain climbing and hiking, and unparalleled vibes. community is at the heart of what we do, ensuring a supportive and friendly environment for all. Weekly activities:
Monday climbing session - 7pm to 9pm
Wednesday climbing session - 3pm to 5pm
Friday climbing session - 7pm to 9pm
What we also do:
- Regular socials! (both drinking and non-drinking)
- Amazing trips... such as our annual trips to Ailefroide in the French Alps.
- Top rope and lead climbing training all included in your membership
Mountaineering aims to introduce new members to the sport of climbing while also encouraging experienced climbers to join and become part of a welcoming community of like-minded people. Members of the club can receive free training in roped climbing skills. To help members further engage with climbing, the club organises cost-effective trips and experiences, ranging from local day trips to week-long camps in the heart of the French Alps. For those with a competitive spirit, the club also offers an exclusive Boulder Team, featuring invite-only weekly training sessions. The team competes against other universities in competitions such as BUCS.
We aim to build an inclusive, welcoming, and passionate climbing community where everyone, from complete beginners to experienced climbers, can develop new skills, and meet like minded people. Through regular free club climbing sessions each week, members have the opportunity to climb consistently in a supportive and social environment. Alongside weekly sessions, the club organises affordable trips to exciting climbing destinations across the UK and abroad, giving members the chance to experience a wide range of climbing styles and locations. For the more competitive climbers the club competes in all three modern climbing disciplines: bouldering, lead, and speed with coached training sessions designed to develop technique, confidence, and performance while welcoming new talent.
