-FreeWhy WiCyS at Surrey?
At WiCyS Surrey, we aim to educate, empower, and connect students from all disciplines who are curious about cybersecurity, whether you're from Computer Science, Business, or beyond.
We create an inclusive space to explore cybersecurity career paths, build essential skills, and hear directly from industry professionals through talks, workshops, and mentorship.
As part of the global Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) network, home to over 290 chapters worldwide, we offer our members access to career resources, certification support, networking opportunities, and a growing community passionate about addressing the gender gap in cyber.
Together, we #AddressTheGenderGapInCybersecurity and help everyone find their place in the field.
To encourage diversity and inclusion within cybersecurity by creating opportunities for students from all backgrounds to engage with the field. To empower students with knowledge of cybersecurity practices, career pathways, industry opportunities, and online safety. To provide workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities that support personal and professional development in cybersecurity. To engage in outreach activities that inspire younger generations to explore cybersecurity education and careers.
We are building a supportive and inclusive space where students can discuss cybersecurity, share knowledge, and explore techniques, opportunities, and careers within the field. Inspired by the values of our parent organisation, we aim to encourage diversity within cybersecurity by supporting students of all genders and backgrounds. We believe a collaborative and welcoming environment helps students grow in confidence and pursue cybersecurity pathways together. We also aim to promote cybersecurity awareness across the wider student community. Our society is open to all students, not only those within STEM subjects, and focuses on both practical cybersecurity skills and helping individuals stay safe online.
