Surrey Decides

Every year, we elect the team of student Officers who lead the Union in a massive student election. Surrey Decides is your time to make change happen, by taking part in the largest democratic event of its kind. 

Representing over 17,000 students, the Union is a student-led organisation, run by 5 elected Sabbatical Officers who are supported by a team of 8 part-time Officers. Our Officers make sure student voice is at the heart of everything we do as a Union. 

Officers help to represent you, support you when you need it most, and bring you events and opportunities to feel like you belong at Surrey and develop yourself in the process. 

If you're inspired by the idea of taking on a student leadership role like no other, then get involved in Surrey Decides as a candidate! If leadership isn't for you, then casting your vote is still the most powerful way you can influence your Union next year.

Surrey is shaped by our student leaders who help the Union meet the needs of our student community. Whether you're new to Surrey or you're a returning student, becoming a Union Officer is your chance to give back and lead your community. The Union's Officer team is made up of students from all backgrounds with all kinds of experiences, and you'll bring your own great ideas and opinions too!

Our student Officers make change happen at Surrey, and beyond! Led by our team of Officers, the Union achieves great things for students every year, helping to make Surrey an even better place to live and study. Some of our student leaders have even made change happen at a national level, representing Surrey students to local and national government!
