The Surrey Teaching and Academic Greatness (STAG) Awards are your opportunity to celebrate the best academic experiences you've had this year.
Students can nominate academic and academic support staff in one or more of the following categories.
Criteria:

- Demonstrates exceptional subject knowledge.
- Encourages critical thinking and curiosity.
- Utilises creative and innovative teaching methods, technology or approaches.
Criteria:
- Provides exceptional guidance and mentorship.
- Shows genuine care for student well-being.
- Is approachable, efficient, and responsive to student needs.
- Goes above and beyond to support students academically and personally.
Criteria:
- Offers consistent and meaningful support to their tutees.
- Provides helpful academic and career advice.
- Builds a strong and positive rapport with students.
- Helps students navigate challenges effectively.
Criteria:
- Promotes an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to equity and diversity.
- Addresses barriers to participation for underrepresented groups.
- Ensures all students feel valued and included.
Criteria:
- Provides detailed, actionable, and timely feedback.
- Encourages students to reflect and improve on their work.
- Uses feedback as a tool for ongoing development.
- Communicates feedback clearly and empathetically.
Criteria:
- Provides excellent guidance and mentorship to research students.
- Encourages students to develop independent research skills.
- Supports the dissemination of research findings.
- Fosters a collaborative and innovative research environment.
