What is the Student Equality Network?
The Student Equality Network is a group run by students, for students, and supported by the Union. Its purpose is to help to ensure that the Union and University remain informed about the experiences of different groups that make up our community. It is made up of our main Network, Disability & Neurodiversity network, Race Equality Network and International Students Network.
We have three main aims: Make a Change, Connect People and Celebrate Diversity. We host regular meetings where members can share their views and opinions on different topics. We work with our members to organise, support or contribute different events, campaigns and projects that celebrate diversity and highlight diverse student voices. Why join the Network?
You can support and contribute to student led change, receive volunteering hours for attending meetings, share real student insight, build connections, suggest events/campaigns, LEAD events/campaigns- and receive funding and support to do this. Membership is free and open to all- and you can engage how you like and when you like.
Did you know the Network is run by Students?
The Student Equality Network is led by 6 paid part-time leaders who are passionate about making a change and improving the student experience. We had over 200 applications for our 2026-27 positions, and our new Network Leaders will be in position from Wednesday 14 October. We cant wait to see what this year has in store.
