All students can join the Student Equality Network and work with like-minded students and staff, passionate about tackling issues of equality and inclusion impacting those in Higher Education. The Student Equality Network aims to recognise and celebrate intersectional differences, and we want to have a wide range of students involved in the Network to ensure we hear from a diverse set of student voices.

The Network is a platform led by student, for students. Network Leaders are employed in part-time positions for the duration of the academic year. They are supported by the Voice Zone and the wider Union.

Applications for the 2025–2026 Leader positions are now closed. However, there will be several opportunities to get involved across the year that provide one-off payments and useful experience which look great on your CV. 

YES! The Network is a platform to share student voices- so if you have ideas for campaigns, initiatives or events, we’d love to hear from you.

If your event or activity aims to share lived experiences, promote equal opportunities or reduce barriers, we may be able to support you with anything from funding, marketing to utilising our Union and University connections. 

Previous collaborations include Surrey Future Leaders, HEON, Manor Park Social, Film Soc, Disney Soc, ACS and Games Soc. 

The Student Equality Network is a free group and there are no requirements needed to sign up – other than wanting to help make the University a welcoming place for all students from all backgrounds. All our events and activities are free or heavily discounted too!
