Monday 19 January
As January comes to a close and you start to finish your exams this week, your Support Zone want to say a massive congratulations. Getting through the assessment period is never easy, whether you're handing in essays, sitting exams, juggling deadlines or group work, so take a moment to breathe, reflect, and be proud of everything you’ve achieved. We also hope you got to enjoy the wellbeing events we put on for you too over the period!
🎓 What’s next: the rest of the semester with the Union
As you transition from exam mode to “back to campus life” mode, there’s a lot lined up for the coming weeks when Semester 2 begins:
The Union’s club & society calendar is buzzing! From debating sessions and weekly socials to creative-writing, music groups, faith & community gatherings, and several sports and dance clubs, make sure to see if there's anything that catches your eye to join.
There are loads of community events and socials to help you reconnect with friends (or make new ones!). Whether you fancy a casual evening with the Book Club, a gaming session with the Video Game Society, or something a bit more active like ice-skating trips or dance classes, there really is something for everyone.
For those looking for support or a bit of balance, the Union remains committed to your wellbeing and personal growth. As always, there are wellbeing and support resources, plus opportunities to get involved in volunteering, student voice, and representational roles. Don't forget Surrey Decides is coming and is your opportunity to shape the student community!
Again, a huge well done on making it through the exam period. If you're still completing those last assessments this week, then good luck! Otherwise, enjoy some well-deserved downtime now, and when you’re ready: we can’t wait to see you around campus, at socials, clubs, events, and everything in between.
Finally, we know that sometimes things can go wrong during your assessments or you may feel worried about what happened with your EC or your upcoming results. If you're not sure and want to talk to someone, please email your Academic Advice team via ussu.advice@surrey.ac.uk. They are happy to help!
