What is Surrey Decides? 

Surrey Decides is Surrey Students’ Union’s annual student election, where students choose the Officer team that will lead the Union and represent the student voice. The team is made up of five full-time Sabbatical Officers (known as “Sabbs”) and eight part-time Officer roles. You can find out more about the available roles here. 

By nominating yourself for one of these roles, you can give students a stronger voice by influencing decision-making, leading impactful campaigns, and working closely with both the Union and the University to enhance the student experience.

Why should I nominate myself? 

From academic representation and wellbeing, to community building, activities, and advocacy - Student Officers play a vital role in ensuring students’ views are heard and acted upon.

Nominations open Monday 2 February and close Wednesday 11 February. Although nominations aren’t open just yet, now is the perfect time to start thinking about getting involved:

• What changes would you like to see at Surrey?

• How could you represent and advocate for your fellow students?

Surrey Decides is the Union's annual election taking place in February 2026.
