Our society aims to provide crash-course style revision sessions and peer-to-peer academic support, targeted to Biomedical Science students. We aim to foster a collaborative study community through regular group sessions. We want to improve academic confidence and performance, reduce stress during exam seasons, and offer workshops on effective study skills, techniques, and guidance for practical work. Members will gain access to high-quality, student-made notes and resources, can ask questions without pressure, receive help with coursework, and build a long-term academic support network - all while making friends and finding study partners along the way.
Students deserve an accessible, supportive space that helps them succeed both academically and personally. Many struggle to keep up with fast-paced lectures or feel unsure about where to find effective study support, which can make university life overwhelming. By offering one-to-one help and connecting students to share knowledge, resources, and encouragement, we create a community that makes catching up on content easier and studying far less isolating. Our goal is to boost confidence, reduce stress, and ensure everyone has the tools they need to stay on track. We differentiate from the current Biosciences Society as we offer specialised academic guidance tailored specifically to Biomedical Science students, opposed to the current Bioscience Society which is a broad departmental society focused more on all the Biosciences degrees as a whole. Although we are Biomedical Science society, students from related science courses are also welcome, as there is a significant overlap in course content with the Biomedical science modules.
