Aims
The aim of the communist society is to tap into the alienation many young people are feeling in our corrupt system. To examine the material conditions which result in the many failures we see in our current system, and to provide a path forward through the analysis done by revolutionary Marxist thinkers such as Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Trotsky. We provide a space for those seeking to take action to transform the world imbue their life with revolutionary optimism.
Existence
We are in the midst of a crisis of capitalism. More young people than ever are recognising the degeneration that our senile system is descending into and are looking for a way to reshape the world for the betterment of all. Over the last 100 years students have often been at the forefront of revolutionary change and we believe that it is necessary to learn the theory laid down by our intellectual forebears with the goal of pushing forward the working class movement and taking revolutionary action against those who hold the the chains of the proletariat. We are building a movement of students across the nation which are well educated in the necessary theory to wage the struggle which the burden of history has placed upon our shoulders. The University of Surrey is sorely lacking in left-wing political discourse and leadership, so we will strive to provide a place for students to answer the important questions and provide clarity on how to effectively change the world.
