The NeuroPsych Society aims to promote engagement in the field of Neuropsychiatry and the Mind-Body interface amongst medical students, whilst encouraging participation from other healthcare students/other disciplines. Through this society we hope to organise talks and discussions exploring the intersection of neurological and psychiatric conditions, and introduce aspects of maintaining mental wellbeing for medics. We also hope to invite psychiatrists and neurologists to speak about their clinical work, helping students gain exposure to careers that sit at the interface of brain and mind.
There is currently no society at the University of Surrey which is specifically dedicated to this field of medicine. With the new medical school in its second year of operation, it would be an opportunity for current as well as incoming students to gain further knowledge and experience.
