Constitution

Aims

A society that helps Surrey medical students understand the importance of research to their career and get involved in it. We will raise awareness of how research shapes evidence-based medicine, connect students with research opportunities, deliver research skills workshops and run termly journal clubs to discuss clinical research.

Existence

Many Surrey medical students are interested in research but don't know where to start or who to approach. There is currently no dedicated student-led society within the medical school focused on research engagement. This gap affects students who want to strengthen their academic skills, explore research opportunities, or build experience beyond the formal curriculum. Our society provides the structure, support and a friendly community to help medical students take their first steps into research confidently while making the journey enjoyable and collaborative.
