Building a Community for those interested in learning about Bhangra through Lessons and Socials.
- Fortnightly Bhangra Lessons.
- Social Events throughout the year
- Working on Collabs with other major Societies
The Societies aim will be to increase Bhangra’s popularity and teach people about Bhangra, the music, and its history. It will aim to create a community for people who participate in Bhangra or would like to participate and learn about and how to do Bhangra. It will aim to create a team that can perform in the Surrey iGala and other performance-based events as well as creating a team that can perform solo or in collaboration with other unis at the annual Bhangra Showdown hosted by UCL and LSE.
Bhangra Society is a common club/society at many universities. It will exist to teach people how to do Bhangra and about its history and music. It will also serve to create a team that can compete and do performances. As a part of the social aspect the Society will hopefully collaborate with other ethnic Societies like ISA, to host social events in Rubix like Desi nights with a more Bhangra focused music selection.
