Freshers' Week
Join us for nine days of incredible experiences, from diverse club nights at our dedicated on-campus nightclub, Rubix; to fun-filled daytime activities, allowing you to meet people, as you get involved.
Summer Ball
Announcing the launch of Summer Ball! This event is for all students, not just those who are graduating, to celebrate the end of the academic year so it made sense to change the name. This gives you a chance to celebrate with all your friends!
Varsity
Varsity is an annual sporting event between the University of Surrey and Royal Holloway UoL. Teams from across both Universities compete in multiple disciplines, to score points. The team with the most points at the end is pronounced the winner for that year. The location of the event alternates each year.
Strictly Come Surrey
Strictly Come Surrey is a spectacular event run in collaboration with the Union and the Ballroom and Latin Dance Club (BLDC). It is a unique show that brings together university staff and students as celebrity dancers paired up with our professional dancers.
Union Ball
Union Ball is an annual event which celebrates all of the achievements and recognise students who have made outstanding contributions to the student community at Surrey.
Colours Ball
Colours Ball is an annual event which celebrates all of the achievements of Surrey sports clubs over the past year. Sports clubs, teams and individual members are awarded prizes for their achievements as well as for outstanding contributions to their club!
One World Week
Returning March 2026 - This week celebrates our diverse community, students and societies showcase their cultures to educate and celebrate their traditions, culture and heritage.
FreeFest
An annual free public event in late Spring, down at the Lake, features entertainment for all, including local student musical talent and back-to-back outdoor films.
