Union Entry, Proof of Age Policy & Admission Policy

 

Age Requirements Rubix/the Basement: 

General entry to both Rubix and The Basement is restricted to those 18 years or age or older. This is monitored by SIA certified door staff and the Duty Manager. Valid proof of age includes driving license, passport or nationally recognised identity cards with the ‘pass logo’. Entry to the building

University of Surrey student entry:

Valid campus cards belonging to University of Surrey students must be produced to gain entry to any of the given club nights. The physical card must be shown to Door Supervisors, photos are not accepted. 

Entry for students from other Universities and Colleges:

Any valid student will be able to gain entry at the event if they are buying at the box office, so long as the event has not sold out. You will need your student card and a form of nationally recognised ID

University of Surrey Alumni entry:

Alumni of the University will be granted entry if they email ussu.information@surrey.ac.uk in advance. They must also produce a nationally recognised ID.

Guest/Non-Student Policy

Surrey Students can buy in advance a ticket for a guest who has no link to any student organisation. They need to still show a national recognised ID.

Surrey Students can have up to two guests and will be let in at the discretion of the Duty Manager. At all times, the Surrey Student is responsible for their guest's conduct. 

 

Admission Policies

Queue Policy

Surrey Students’ Union operates a no alcohol policy in its queue. if they are found to be drinking in the queue, alcohol will be confiscated and if customers refuse to hand over the alcohol to security staff, entry will be refused.

Searching

Please be aware that as a condition of entry they may be asked to be searched on your way into the premises or even once inside of the premises. They are entitled to refuse the search if you so wish, however as a condition of entry a search will be required.

Right of Refusal 

The duty manager reserves the right to refuse entry to any person, without giving a reason. Where possible a reason should be given to help manage the situation.

In accordance with the conditions of sale on your ticket “Ticket holders who are unable to use their ticket due to refusal of entrance are not eligible for a refund.” 

Any inappropriate behaviour will be dealt with by the security staff and customers may face disciplinary action.

Last Admission

University of Surrey Students’ Union venues operate a Last Entry time for each event. You must be in the queue by the advertised time or you will not be allowed admission. Refunds will not be given to customers who turn up after the last entry time.

Wednesdays & Fridays: Customers must be in the queue for the event by 23:30 on Wednesday and 00:00 on Friday. At the discretion of the Duty Manager, they may extend last entry but to no later than 00:30.

Re-entry

The venue operates a no-re-admission policy. If customers leave the venue for any reason, they will not be allowed to re-enter the premises unless you purchase an additional ticket. Although exceptions for medical/emergency reasons may be granted at the discretion of the Duty Manager

Drugs

University of Surrey Students’ Union has a zero tolerance policy on drug misuse.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the venue or event please speak to a member of security who will try to assist and in turn, if necessary, contact a Duty Manager immediately for swift resolution.
