I want to bring more FUN and FREE activities to the uni, and showcase our diverse cultures on campus.
My Objectives
- Entertainment
FREE events on Stag Hill and Manor Park. Quizzes, Crafternoons, Games, Sports, and much more. More low-cost day trips and trips abroad. Open the Front Room every day and evening. Free space to socialise and relax with pool tables, board games, and video games. Make Rubix Great (Again): new music and events chosen by you.
- Inclusivity & Community
OneWorld focus weeks for cultural and religious societies, with promotion and opportunities to showcase their culture or religion. Society and sports club of the month, rewards for winners each month. Rewards for students who volunteer to recognise their efforts. More reliable buses in the day and more frequent night buses.
- Environment
Returnable cup scheme for all hot and cold drinks sold at the university. Community fridge to reduce food waste. Expand the Community Hub with food refill stations. Engagement with local environmental groups to promote and collaborate on local work for the environment.
- Student Safety
Campaign against hostility and negativity to any group and provide a safe space to speak about issues affecting anyone at the university. Ensure students feel safe on their way home, day or night, and work with local authorities and charities to help improve the safety of the local area.
