Weekly Sessions (During term time)
Pool Sessions – Tuesday 9:15pm-10:30pm (Surrey Sports Park)
River Sessions – Wednesday 1:00pm-4:00pm (Guildford Waterside Centre)
Polo Sessions – Sunday 7:30pm-9:00pm (Surrey Sports Park)
Some members also attend Blackwater Valley Canoe Club (BVCC) polo sessions throughout the week. Please enquire for session details.
Weekend Trips
We go on many whitewater kayaking trips throughout the year, in many different areas of the UK and further afield! We start the year with easier rivers to introduce and build the skills of newcomers to the sport. More experienced kayakers are encouraged to lead and to reinforce their paddling skills. Once you have mastered the essentials of white water kayaking you will notice your ability increasing and your confidence building as you move on to bigger rivers.

Competitions
We compete in three different disciplines – Canoe Polo, Canoe Slalom and Wild-water Racing. We begin each year with many total beginners to kayaking, and once you have the basics, competing is a great way to get the adrenaline pumping and to represent the University. We compete in BUCS events for all three disciplines, but take Canoe Polo to regional competitions too!
Training Courses
Throughout your time in the club you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of heavily subsidised training courses. These include First Aid training, Canoe Polo Referee training, Whitewater Safety & Rescue awards and Whitewater Kayak Leader awards.
Socials
Weekly social (Cooked meal included for £3) – Wednesday 5:00pm-8:00pm (Guildford Waterside Centre)
Every Wednesday evening we meet together at the Guildford waterside centre, and two people each week volunteer to cook a meal for everyone.
In addition to our regular Wednesday socials, we have many other socials throughout the year – from trips to Thorpe Park, Play-zone and Winter Wonderland – to house crawls, pub crawls, black tie events, fancy dress.
