What is Union Form?

Union Forum is a space where students can hear updates from their Students' Union Officers, ask question, and share feedback on key issues affecting student life.

Across the year, Forums focus on important student topics and gave Officers the opportunity to explain their work and hear directly from students.

You can find more about Union Forum here.

What We Discussed This Year:

Three Union Forums took place during the 2025-26 academic year, covering:

  • Library Opening Hours
  • Accommodation
  • End of Year Review & a Student Voice and Feedback Discussion

What Changed This Year?

This year introduced a more engaging presentation format for Officer updates, helping make the online meeting more interactive and accessible.

The final Forum also moved to an in-person format, alongside a social for the full officer team, aiming to create a reflective session for Officers and Students.

Looking Ahead

Union Forum continues to be an important space for transparency and accountability within the Union, however, increasing engagement is a key focus moving forward into next Academic Year.

Key elements of this include the meeting's format, how students can participate, how we promote Union Forum and how the Forum fulfils its purpose as outlined in the Students' Union's By-Laws.

We Need Your Feedback!

We'd love to hear ideas on how Union Forum could work better for students. What changes would improve it? How should officers be held accountable? Share your thoughts by emailing ue585ci@surrey.ac.uk
