Freshers' Week is about more than just nights out. Across the week, there are plenty of daytime events to help you meet people, settle in and make the most of your first days at Surrey. Here’s a breakdown of what we have on each day of the week...

Thursday 17 September

Start Freshers' Week with the International Welcome Café, running from 11:00-14:00 in The Front Room. Later, enjoy a viewing of Supergirl (2026) from 17:00-20:00 – the perfect chance to unwind, watch a great film and get to know some of your new fellow students.

Friday 18 September

Get creative with Dorm Crafts from 13:00-15:00, followed by a Global Games Night from 16:00-19:00, both in The Front Room, and a great chance to meet new friends!

Saturday 19 September

Make your mark on your new home with a Belonging Event creating Door Signs from 12:00-14:00 in the Welcome Lounge, before heading to Welcome to Halls from 13:00-18:00 at Manor Park Social.

Sunday 20 September

Ease into the week with Welcome Postcards from 12:00-14:00, followed by another Welcome to Halls session from 13:00-18:00 at Hari’s Bar. You can also get creative designing some Coasters from 18:00-20:00 in the Welcome Lounge.

Monday 21 September

Kick things off with the Freshers’ Welcome BBQ from 12:00-18:00 at The Lake. There’s also Speed Friending from 17:00-19:00 at Hari’s Bar, plus get creative with some Vision Board making from 18:00-20:00 in the Welcome Lounge.

Tuesday 22 September

Come along to Clay Trinkets from 12:00-14:00 and Pilates from 15:00-17:00, both in the Welcome Lounge, go with new flatmates as a chance to bond or by yourself to meet new people!

Wednesday 23 September

Start the day with Belonging Breakfast from 09:00-12:00 in The Front Room, followed by Beads and Buds from 12:00-14:00 in the Welcome Lounge.

Thursday 24 September

Why not come along to a Badges and Buds session from 12:00-14:00, followed by Pipe Cleaner Crafts from 15:00-17:00, again both in the Welcome Lounge.

Friday 25 September

The big one! Head to Freshers’ Fair from 11:00-16:00 at PATS Field to discover Societies, Clubs and everything Surrey has to offer. We also have a quiet hour for those who would prefer fewer crowds and no loud music between 10:00-11:00. Later, Crazy Golf runs from 17:00-19:00 at Rubix.

Sunday 27 September

Round off Freshers' Week with the Freshers’ Survivors Roast, running from 09:00-12:00 at The Basement. A well-earned breakfast after a busy week!
