Day 1:

Our trip to Iceland began on Monday 9 December, with most of the group arriving at Reykjavík bus station around midday to be greeted by Yuri, our Yes Trips leader for the week. We then headed to Nordic Hostel, where we joined the rest of the group.

In the afternoon, we had free time to explore the city of Reykjavík before coming together for dinner, where we got to know each other and enjoyed some Icelandic delicacies.

We headed to Perlan after dinner, and after patiently waiting, we were fortunate enough to see the beautiful Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). We then headed back to the hostel for some much needed rest!

Day 2:

On Tuesday, Yuri took the group on a walking tour of Reykjavík, where we saw the city’s sights, including Hallgrimskirkja, Austurvöllur Square, the Concert Hall, and the Sun Voyager.

The walking tour ended in the centre of Reykjavík, where the group had time to enjoy the city before heading out on their optional activities, which included Horseback Riding, Whale Watching and the Hvammsvik Hot Springs.

Day 3:

An early start saw the group check out of Nordic Hostel and set off on a private coach to the Golden Circle. Throughout the day, the group made stops at Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area, Gullfoss Waterfall and the Kerid Crater.

We then checked into the Barn Hostel in Vik, located in the South of Iceland, and enjoyed an evening together.

Day 4:

We waited for the sun to rise before we set off for Reynisfjara, Iceland’s famous black sand beach. We also made additional stops to take in the beautiful landscapes at Dyrhólaey Cliffs, Skógafoss Waterfall, Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and Gljúfrabúi Waterfall.

We then arrived in Reykjavík and checked into the Nordic Hostel, where we enjoyed a games evening together.

Day 5:

It was an early start as we all hopped on to our private coach and headed to Ytri Tunga for a remarkable sunrise, where we were lucky enough to spot some seals.

We also made stops at Lóndrangar, Gatkletter, for a lovely coastal walk and the famous Kirkjufell Mountain.

We arrived back in Reykjavík to enjoy our last evening together.

Day 6:

Today was the day we headed home, and one by one, members of our group flew home.

We want to say a massive thank you to all who attended the trip and to Yuri and the Yes Trips team.

This trip has created memories that will last a lifetime!
