All our activities are led by students meaning they are designed with you in mind. Try something new, or develop an existing skill, the Activity Zone are focused on helping you make the most out of your time at Surrey and making you more employable at the end of it.

VP Activity

Along with my Activity Zone team, I am responsible for helping co-ordinate and develop Surrey’s sports teams and societies. I lead on encouraging students to get involved in something extra-curricular of their studies, for their personal growth and individual development as well as helping to breakdown the barriers to activity. This can be through joining a club, society, attending our Give it a Go trips or participating in our social sport opportunities.
I came to Surrey in 2018 and immediately found myself in the role of Course Rep and on the Surrey Dance Squad Adv Hip-Hop team. Since then, I have been an Activity Zone Part-Time Officer, a member of ACS, Nigerian Society, and Enactus. I’ve also been the Wellbeing Champion for Women’s Rugby & #WOKESURREY and the #WOKESURREY VP.
I find joy in powerlifting, roller-skating, and playing the saxophone, not only is this great for my physical health but also creative expression.

The event where all the course reps and union officer’s met at falafel because that’s was great way to meet my fellow members and network with them, to understand various backgrounds.
If you had advice to a new student what would it be?
Make sure to check all the resources that are available to you by the university and start networking.

My role is to support the VP Activity in looking after the clubs and societies, as well as organising relevant events and activities.
I’m going into my final year of uni as a criminology student and love to do archery in my free time!

Team Surrey Chair is responsible for running the monthly sports standings to ensure all Clubs are kept up to date with info from the union, Team Surrey and other places. Also being another student voice to assist the VP activity and activity zone.
I’m Josh, 3rd year Sport Scientist, 4th year at Surrey, I’m passionate about all things sport having competed and participated in several different sports across my life.
