Amelia Hoy
My role is to manage and oversee all things Rubix! This involves running the day-to-day operations of the venue, including our weekly Citrus and Flirt nights. I plan and execute an exciting range of diverse events throughout the year and aim to present a range of music, artists, and events which represent the various interests of students at Surrey. My main focus is to consistently make Rubix a better experience, through ensuring it operates safely, brings a sense of community, and implementing incredibly fun nights to ensure students make long-lasting memories!
I have worked in nightclub venues since I was 18 and have taken on various roles from bartending and VIP hosting, to management. I have a passion for the nightlife industry and strive to make Rubix enjoyable for students whether they are working as a Team Member or are on the dancefloor! I love working within the Union to operate an exciting, diverse and safe venue which I loved so much while I was a student!
3 Priorities for the Year
- To utilise both Rubix and The Basement for a range of events other than club-nights, and encourage its venue hire for societies.
- Launch our new VIP area in Rubix to bring an element of exclusivity while on a student budget, and encourage groups of friends and societies to book and attend events as a group.
-
Implement new stock for the bars to increase our range of spirits, mixers, and non-alcoholic options, which allows us to create new deals and drinks promotions.
Interesting Fact:
